2) I don't know that bike brand but Kenda tires are decent, so I wouldn't worry about it too much, but you might want something with less tread if you're going to be riding on roads a lot.
Sooner or later any tire will get a puncture, If you tour you should be able to fix a flat and carry patches, pump and a spare tube or three.
