I’m no KVD and I’ve only been living here a few years but it seems like Jan-Feb you can get away with crankbaits and jerkbaits and some spinners (at least for LMB), March can still do some jerkbaits and I did ok with topwater around that time too. Then April through December is like 90% Texas Rigs or other slow soft baits.
Last year around this time was when I was killing it with the Sebiles. If you’re fishing ponds and canals in the urban/suburban areas, just remember to go a little smaller than you think with the baits. These bass don’t like hitting giant stuff. My biggest bass have been on 4”-5” Zoom lizards, small inline spinners, and 2” lipless cranks.
