>>441693its same with the fedora and all that other stuff, just different aspects of it
the idea of being masculine is dying in our society since in the west we are so sedentary and live such isolated and orderly urban lives that the true masculine man becomes more of a threat than a boon for the society
society doesn't what dynamism or spontaneity or radical change, so in that regard young headstrong men are being pushed aside in favor of smaller weaker 'males' to do the grunt work of today, mainly laborious calculations and office work bureaucracy
but humans are still humans and don't want to live like that, however people are often simply unaware or unwilling of how to obtain 'masculinity' as the commodity it has become. either the Man figure is demonized in their lives, or they simply lack one altogether, so they pick up the signs of the Man (fedora, beard, tattoos, red meat like bacon, flannel, ect.....) while lacking in the symbolism behind them
essentially a meme without the meaning
these signs merely become items to collect to create a facade of the Man, like a costume or disguise, its why we find these fatty fedoras so funny because its obvious they were merely wearing this costume of sorts and have zero context behind all the signs they have collected
hell I'd even say 'muscles' at this point are a commodities since you have these urbanites who go to their cozy gym, take their expensive supplements and drugs, and get what is essentially worthless mass for fashion reasons
that swole bicep now becomes little more than a fashion statement along with your timberland boots since often they will never ever use that muscle for anything.
I'd say the Americas have a different sort of issue (and its generally not as bad here) as Europe does, Europe is completely gone, urbanism is total and fashion dictates everything
America still has its Frontier spirit alive in its culture, which is why the Masculine still is alive here, and in conflict with the Urban
