If you're casting upstream and letting it float back be mindful to take up the slack as it comes back to you. If you're casting downstream the pull of the current is going to want to straighten the line out against it's point of resistance which is the tip of your rod. So be mindful as well that it doesn't straighten out directly into any structure, snags or the shore. Probably common sense but pic related in case. Of course if you're standing out in the river fishing that's pretty much a non-issue.
