>>556819It's illegal to hunt kangaroos unless you live on a property, where you can cull them because they're agricultural pests since we mostly wiped out their natural predators, dingos and abbos.
Here in Aus you can actually buy roo meat at supermarkets; it's cheaper than high quality cuts of beef but a bit more expensive than your average steak. And to be perfectly honest, it's one of my favourite meats.
Tastes a lot like beef but a bit more gamey and if it's cooked right it's far more tender, but because it's so lean it will turn into boot leather if you overcook it even slightly. The mince is also good because it's juicy enough to not stick to everything but it's also not very oily or fatty so it won't grease up when cold, and I absolutely love kangaroo sausages and burger patties too. If I had any complaints it's that the raw meat smells kinda funky.
Also, it's supposedly one of the healthiest meats for you, low in fat, high in iron and lots of protein for them gains.
