ALSO, thank you sincerely for those flies you sent me some years ago. i legit still have some, and it really helped cement my joy in fly fishing.
on the topic of trips, if you can find your way to northeast ohio some time, and i happen to get a coinciding day off, we should absolutely spend a day swinging flies for steelhead.
>>1638820not op, but i too love small stupid bullshit, up to and including catching literal minnows out of a drainage ditch near where i work with a 2 weight, my go-to
>cabelas cgr, 6'3'' 2 weight>echo base reel, just something to hold line>china line that some rando on normiebook sent meits a super supple true to weight double taper floating line and a super slow glass rod, i can cast it farther than i would ever need to, and im not worried about what line i have since i can A: cast this rod with #50 dacron as a line; B: cast the thing well over 40 feet; and C: seldom have more than 10 feet of line out of the rod tip, and im not worried about the reel because it's literally just there to hold all the line that i dont use.
>pic related, a dink bass i caught out of a small, featureless park pond on that set up, and the set up. though i have most fun with it in small creeks
