I can't speak for anyone else, but my solution is to use a Snugpak Jungle Bivvy. It is a lightweight mummy bag that's great for hot and humid environments. It has a fully enclosed zipper mosquito net at the face so once your inside, you are fully enclosed from any outside bugs that try to get in. There's basically no opening for anything to crawl into.
I combine that with a simple rain poncho/tarp and use it as my basic set up for single or two night stays.
