>>1690051The 1k$ rods do feel like they cast better, can be more accurate and look nice. I got to try a Sage X 8wt last year and it felt really great. However, If you are fishing for anything other than Billfish you don't need rods that expensive. They feel good and look good but mid priced rods (300-500$) are similar in performance at regular casting ranges and are durable.
Depending on the condition of the rod its a good deal, but if by 4 power you mean 4 weight then the rod is meant for smaller fish. Pic related is a little outdated but is accurate for the most part.
