>>2293427>>2293440The Mid State Trail runs through some of PA's more remote backcountry. Certainly a more authentic representation of the state than the AT. The PA Grand Canyon, Bald Eagle, Tuscarora, and Buchanon State Forests among others are along the way with easy access to PA wild areas. Multiple state parks and private campgrounds with amenities (particularly within the S half of the state) are just off-trail as well, if that's what you're into.
