West Michigan friend here. I've recently been at lake Michigan and have become interested in sailing.
I've never operated a sailboat before or done much other than ride around on people's speedboats or go on a few 4 hour chartered boat tours in the Pacific.
What are the costs of owning a sailboat in Grand Haven, Holland, or White Hall?
I would assume that a 25 foot fiberglass boat would be sufficient as long as I don't stray too far from shore if storms kick up.
I see boats for sale for 5-10k that seems fine but are older. I'm assuming storage and maintenance costs on these boats would also be 5-10k per year. Is this accurate?
I would also need sailing classes which I'm sure aren't cheap.
