There are places in the Great North Woods that are so desolate if you think too much about it it will scare you.I've lived in Colorado and climbed the Rockies. I lived in California and spent time in the Deserts and in the redwoods. Maine feels much older and more desolate than any place I've been to. I miss my home every day. It is a place unlike any other. My family came over in the 1600s and the currents of the Penobscot drum deep in my veins. Its almost primordial.
