>>2081041There was an old thread about this but it's turned pretty cancerous. I wear Danner Explorers, pic related six inch all-leather boots with a lug sole and goretex. I'd recommend them, they're absolutely bulletproof, but I'll submit to the fact that they're heavy and goretex isn't my favorite thing ever. If you want something fairly lightweight, LL Bean Boot are not a bad option, I have a pair and have hiked in softer terrain and lowlands with them several times, very comfortable but not for high mountains. An option from one of those two companies (LL Bean or Danner) should do you well.
