The biggest problem is actually the humidity. We get super-cooled mist or "Freezing fog" as it is called here. As soon as the mist touches something, it freezes, then if the thing it touched was above 0, it melts. This forms hoarfrost or very cold dew on everything (depending on temp), and can permiate overhead cover to some extent. It hasn't been too bad this year in that regard. The perpetual deluge of rain kept it away.
