Started googling and it seems that every aspect of a fishing setup is a rabbit hole that goes forever. Makes choices very hard. The rod is not a heavy one and that connects to a lower lb line in my head but again this is with zero experience so I dont trust myself much.

- Picture is the old tackle box of my dad's I dug out of a corner that hasn't been touched in literal decades. Comments on what I could/would start with? Will be going to a pond and a couple smaller streams and medium sized rivers this weekend to try and give myself some variety of experience depending on what bites or not and such. Just literally have no idea where to start and trial and error works but would love some pointers. Can take stuff out and open etc.
