Most expensive boots I've ever owner were about £70, but this year I'm looking to really step it up and finally shell out for a proper nice pair. I'm thinking a £200 budget should get me something really good right? I may be willing to go higher if need be.
Are fully waterproof boots even a thing? Or do they all let water in eventually? My £50 leather Trespass boots (with some knock off of goretex on the label) lasted for 3 single day walks before they started letting water in through the material on the tongue. 9 months later and my feet get wet in heavy rain. Waterproofing rub on treatment hasn't helped at all. I'm planning to try my first long distance walk this year, so wet feet is no fucking good.
