Japanese water stones at home then strop. I've never needed anything other than 800, 1200 & 6000. I've reprofiled a few friends folder with the 800 to hold a much more useable bevel. Before I started using Japanese water stones I use my dads old oil stone thats about an 800. The differance with the water stones was night and day.
When out DC4 and strop.
Unless its a non scandi grind folder or full flat grind then I just use a ceramic rod as it gets it poping sharp qiuckly. I keep a Spydercro grasshopper on my keys and that will shave hairs and I only ever use my ceramic rod on it. If it gets really blint I just use my DC4 on it.
