>>1350092I had a couple of years where I was a furtrapper to supplement my (and my gf's) meager welfare. We lived in an old factory (the owner rented it to us for cheap as some sort of anti-squatting guard) and the area around it was sprawling with rabbits (probably due to the heated pipes in the ground of the other factories).
So, it didn't take long until we started ferreting (not only in the industrial area around our 'home', but soon we were also hired by local sports clubs and farmers). We cleaned and tanned the furs and sold them on internet. Mostly to fashion folks and people who sold products like cushions or quilts made with fur on etsy or something. (the meat was stewed mostly and then put in weck jars.. needless to say, we ate rabbit curry every single day)
Mole skins were even more profitable. We caught them using mole traps. We mostly sold them to fly fishers for about 20 euros a piece.
But here's a catch: it's bloody hard work. It sounds all fun and innawoods-ish, but 1) you'll be out at odd hours in the pissing rain 2) most of the work goes in cleaning and tanning the hides (it's a smelly job too).
