Even if you don't life in that area or even the US, it may be useful as he goes through ways of identifying mushrooms, their characteristics and where to look for them in the environment, their relationship to various species of trees etc.
There is also his smaller field guide "All That the Rain Promises and More: A Hip Pocket Guide to Western Mushrooms" which I don't own, but from reviews it sounds pretty good.
