>>1606511Anon, as a person who can sympathize with your experiences, I can say that the best thing you can do it just hike it. I recommend taking a friend with you the first couple of times so you can get used to the idea of hiking high up and have some encouragement and moral support. Furthermore, if a friend is there, remind yourself that if they can do it, so can you. You will be forced to adjust and face the reality of the situation. I was initially very scared of heights when I started; however, after putting myself in various situations both alone and with friends, I managed to conquer the fear. Although I still get slight anxiety from the sheer drops, I have gradually improved since. Take your hike slow, it ain't a race; remember to be conscious of where you step and rest. In some situations on steep grades, if you're really that terrified, just slide on your ass to get down the hill. I also recommend mentally preparing yourself for the hike before hand. I'm a pussy. If I can do it, so can you.
