>>194692I actually think I have some binoculars my parents bought a while back; I remember them saying that they were good for stargazing and had given me a book on the subject (the book is unfortunately gone, though). I don't have a smartphone but I'll be on the lookout for a good book on the subject, I'm sure that the information is pretty basic and that even the cheap ones do the job if you're just getting started.
