>>2040874anyway OP, i thought of doing that years ago before corona and and got spooked out of it after reading horror story after horror story. the way into these jobs, from a composite of maybe ~30 rangers i read about, is to be female and related to or fucking somebody in an authority position. i read a lot of frustrated retired rangers' blogs and an ongoing theme was hiring 20something yuppie girls that would otherwise work in an HR department while offloading all actual park work like ditch digging to seasonal workers/people they wanted to make quit. if you're able to circumvent the nepotism, then the proper way in is to work as a volunteer for multiple years and hope somebody dies or retires while no ~25 year old women that've never been camping are applying
