This asshole would get made if you didn't start a fire with gasoline and a road flare cause it's efficient.
Batoning doesn't have to kill your knife, just don't baton thick ass wood logs or knots, and don't beat on it like a gorilla or hit the knife on an angle. sometimes dead fall is too wet to burn so you need to open it up to get the dry wood inside. you don't need to baton all your wood, but getting some dry kindling helps though.
