I just suck it up, throw over my poncho, open my umbrella (i hate hoods of any kind on my head) and continue walking. I might get wet lower legs and most likely wet feet, but that's part of the experience for me.
If i need to stay comfy i better stay home.
Going through a forest in the rain is quite an experience. Maybe you find some kind of dry spot where you can pitch your tent.
