Greetings from Hungary!
Nowadays me and a good friend of mine are either going on day hikes onto Hungarian mountains, or do urban exploring (for the latter I can advise fellow Hungarians to take a look around the Veszprém region, as well as the city itself).
I have been entertaining the idea of going on at least one week long road trip abroad this summer again, but due to the current situation, it is questionable whether this can be realized.
One of my last remarkable journeys was a month long Western Hungary ― Austria ― Northern Italy solo backpacking trip back in 2014 where I had only brought a backpack, a sleeping bag, a tent (which I only ended up using twice, then it broke from a hailstorm), and a guitar that I used to earn money with. I jumped in at the deep end, as I had never done anything like that before: only a few, couple-day-long trips in my homecountry. It was the greatest experience of my life.
The other one was a week long trip during last year's September with the aforementioned friend of mine, through Western Hungary and South-Eastern Austria, by car. Most of the time we cooked or grilled food for ourselves on campfires in forests ― speaking of which, I would advise everyone to learn the technique of the so called «Dakota fire pit», as it provides much more stealth when needed.
