If that was my goal, I wouldn't be looking at a WR250. Or even my 525.
That's the reason there's a 1190 Adventure in my garage. Jump on the bike in the morning, stop for a late lunch/early dinner halfway across the state, then take the long way home putting on 400mi or so by the end of the day... that's not a problem for me or the big bike. It'd be rough on my 525.
The 700cc~ish bikes (FE701, 690 Enduro, 790 Adv, or even the 950 SE) would be a decent one-bike-fits-all for distance and some dirt.
