Goats are stubborn as fuck and will constantly jockey for dominance. If you rent goats they're not going to do what you want because to them you're the newest member of the group and therefore the lowest in the social order.
If you want to own goats, be prepared to sink a lot of money and a LOT of time in to them. Goats are highly social, you'll probably want three. Two females and a wether (neutered male), if you can establish your dominance over the wether, the two females will typically fall in line behind him.
You can't leave them alone for very long either. If you establish that you are the top goat, and you go on vacation for a week they will plunge in to like goat anarchy (related to why people often have problems with rented goats).
