>>2299082The Skyline has a special place in my heart, when I first started to get into knives like 12 years ago the Skyline was the first modern folder I bought. I think I currently have 5 variants of it, I still carry a skyline fixed blade /out/ sometimes.
But I don’t edc them much anymore. My all time favorite EDC folder is the Spyderco PM2, 3.5” is my preferred blade length. A lot of people like the Para 3, but I think it’s cramped for my hands, I like the Native 5 a lot more for that size.
I understand jumping into a $150 folder isn’t for everyone. I also highly recommend the Cold Steel Code 4 at $90ish. It’s my favorite work/beater.
And I would argue Spyderco is higher quality now than they have ever been. They really believe in CQI, constant quality improvement, meaning they do iterative design improvements on knives through out the production run to fix problems based on feed back. Their HT is also continuously being adjusted, basically an s30v Spyderco from 2022 is going to perform a bit better than a 2010 s30v Spyderco.
These are some of my favorite carry knives compared to a Skyline
