also you could probably make the spinning rod you want out of a 6 foot fiberglass driveway marker; i've fly casted one with twine for a line successfully, im sure you could sand it down in to a fairly fast action ultralight rod that would also be near indestructible
>pic semi relatedice rods are fun to build but i havent had a chance to catch anything on it, and i definately got what i paid for with this cheap-o thing
