Some of my sc/out/ing toys. The most high end stuff would be the 4 knives of alaska which was a result of walking into Cabela's with more cash than sense, but they're great knives for the money IMO, so I don't regret getting them at all, even if I only went in to get some bait and sinkers.
The cleaver is a bit of overkill for small game, but it makes short work of Mr. Bunny. It's the least used of the four KOA.
The KOA knives were ALL razor hair shaving sharp out of the box and have stayed that way, the camp knife and the caping knife see the most action and with DMT files they are a cinch to touch up, which isn't that often the as D2 steel holds the edge beautifully. I use the camp knife pretty hard and it can take it. No, I don't Baton shit, that's what the axe is for. I believe it's better to use an axe when you need an axe, a knife when you need a knife, and a saw when you need a saw. That said the long blade isn't a machete, it's a gladius, and while it works reasonably well as a machete, it's really more of a pointy end goes in the other guy type of weapon, but it handles trailblazing with ease, but really I just carry it because it was a custom made just for me, and in case of zombies or bears or whatever, but it gets used.
The Bear folder and the Leatherman are pretty much my EDC since I can carry them pretty much anywhere legally and they both fit snugly in the Leatherman nylon sheath.
My cheapo knives would be the dollar store paring knife that I bought just to see if I could get it as sharp as my other knives, and surprisingly it can take a wicked edge just as long as it's only used for food and fruits, the edge tends to roll if it encounters hard resistance. The same can be said of the 20 buck Winchester Camp knife with it's hollow grind, but it makes for a decent loaner if someone happens to need a knife.
