Shit-talk aside, that is really odd. Especially since it sounds like even when waiting for the substrate to be fully colonized, you ended up with trich only AFTER opening. Normally I'd say culture was the problem, but if you exclusively see trich when opening bags to start fruiting that's obviously not the case. I wonder if you just got the short stick and happen to live in a place with an excess of spores/endospores floating around? I've always played pretty fast and loose with sterile technique past the culture stage and have only had occasional losses to contam.
