>>2540464So I did some experimenting. What were the conditions of the first tin and how were they different than this jarred Plum Pudding? First, the biggest difference was that I smoked it straight from the tin, not a jar. So I moved about 2oz from the jar back into an empty Plum Pudding tin. I then let it sit in that tin for a week. Tested it again, and there was a definite improvement. The latakia definitely stood out more than it had been, and the Virginia was less harsh and acidic and sweeter. But still it wasn’t quite there. Then I realized, the first time I had it, I had smoked Elizabethan right before. So yesterday I packed one pipe with Elizabethan and another with Plum Pudding. I smoked the Elizabethan which was no chore. Then the moment of truth. I went to light the Plum Pudding, and the magic was back. I got that same magical smoky-sweet taste as the first tin. I’ve now smoked about 7 bowls of Plum Pudding since yesterday afternoon. The magic is back. Try smoking Elizabethan and then Plum Pudding. You might get the same magic I experienced.
