Honestly, giving them medicine and food produced the population pressures that are now destroying the environment and pushing humanity deeper into the jungle (destroying the genetic treasure of nature and exposing humans to new diseases). Really, we would've been better off never helping them in the first place, and only contracting the bare minimum amount of labor needed to get resources out of the ground.
Western countries will be just fine (pic related) and if we sit back for 50 years or so, we won't have to worry about "India superpower by 2050" or chink invasion. The only one I'll be shedding tears for will be Japan, and they'll probably be fine anyway.
