What is a tree? A trunk, branches, leaves.
If a tree is lacking any of these, it is an ugly tree. If the tree is stunted, or has dead branches with dead leaves, when they should be alive and green, then it is ugly.
If you see a bush, that is specifically not bushy, would it not be an ugly bush? But if you were to see a round springy green thing, would you not think that this one instead is a good bush and beautiful?
What else.
Rocks?
A riverstone is defined by a rock that has been eroded by the movement of water. Should it be jagged and geometrical? Of course not. Therefore it is beautiful if it is round and smooth, as it should be.
The river its self, is it water or is it a wet patch of mud? Now is that water clear and appears like water, or is it water with the appearance of mud?
So it would follow that the closer the river is to water, the more beautiful it is, and the more it looks like mud, the more unlike a river it is and thus ugly.
