All young Icelanders and most of the older generations speak perfectly good English, they are friendly and helpful but often reclusive of forefingers, which I can fully understand considering how many tourists they have to put up with.
My advise to you is to bring bathing shorts.
Almost every city in Iceland has a swimming pool, which are reasonably priced (not the blue lagoon and myvatn nature bath)
I have really enjoyed going into a hot tub after 10 hours of biking around.
Also, in case you're traveling on a budged, Iceland is a perfect country for dumpster diving.
