It really peeves me too because the 30 degree cold front is only for two days, but it only takes one day of frost.
Alas, here comes a special harvest update. These were the original six, the ones that got pollinated first and survived. They're so close to maturity that I'm confident I'm able to help them reach that final ripening by letting them in the sun during the day for the next week. They may not get sweeter, but they should get orange, which, I guess in the end was really my only goal all along.
Speaking of, I've never understood the mechanics of how that works. How do some fruits continue to "ripen" post harvest? Any botanists/horticulturists in here?
