I had a rubber bit slip off one that came with my cheapo Topoint recurve, stabbed the sight into my chest and broke a rib. Fun times!
Dental floss works really well for nocking points, I recommend giving that a go before buying brass ones and pliers. Easier on the inside of your arm too. There's plenty of instruction videos online
