Ever taste a berry or a veggie like a potato and it was bitter? That was BT. Natural plant pesticide. There was a case shortly after the potato famine in Ireland where it was thought that if we just pumped potatoes full of BT, they would be resistant to disease. This was the case, but the plant was also toxic and not edible.
