As you can tell they're mostly good training boats and was in fact how I learned in the first place. The hull takes good height but isn't really comfortable in more than 7mps, especially since the freeboards curve = they take in water quickly.
I'm sure there are other similar models around. If I wanted to own something easy for myself this might be it - I can confidently sail, anchor and dock it all on my own if I have to but big enough for a three person weekend adventure with a tent and a stove in the archipelago if the weather is nice. That said, if that's what you wanna do you should probably have something sturdier with at least a motor and a radio, so it cancels out quite quickly. Always seems to come back to that elusive "knowing what you want" and cost of investment issue.
