>>470146>/out/ what's your excuse for not owning an Esbit?My understanding is that the Esbit was developed as a survival stove for use by downed aircrews after bombing Soviet Russia during the Cold War and while acceptable for that specific use, the fuel tablets stink and make your food taste like shit they also they burn dirty, coating your cookware with greasy black soot.
If you need to go minimalist in a camping situation, there are better options (both wood burning or liquid / gas fueled)
