Although they’re fun to fish with, topwaters have never been my favorite. The only popper-plug bait I have ever had any luck with is the Rapala Skitter Pop, and the only conditions it works in are mornings where the water isn’t perfectly calm but maybe like 1/10 little tiny waves.
