What kind of dacron? dacron backing? or older style dacron from bottom fishing reels? dacron is fine to use. I used it for a quite a few years back in the day It'll shoot fine, buy a needle to make the loop. modern braid is thin & slick, best as i can describe when you shoot braid it'll feel like tossing a 1oz sinker on a spinning reel with 8lb test. you can wear a glove or use a piece of kt tape or even duct tape on the fingers of your stripping hand. both types will rub and cut you so a little tape goes a long way.
