>>1856785bring a large black garbage bag. they make decent moisture traps. dig a small pit and put a water container in the center. fill in the rest of the pit around the container with cacti. put the plastic garbage bag over the top and make sure it covers the entire hole. secure it around the sides of the hole with large rocks and make a seal over the top of it with dirt or sand. in the center of the bag (which should be taught) place a small rock to create an inverted pyramid out of the bag so that the rock is creating a depression directly over the container underneath. when the sun hits the garbage bag, it will cause a bunch of moisture from the cacti to evaporate and build up on the underside of the bag. the rock in the center will cause all the water to run down and drip into the container. if you've done all this right you'll have a bunch of the most absolutely foul tasting water you've ever had, but it'll be potable. also the desert can get cold and windy at night, bring a long sleeve shirt.
