>>1798418Okay first step when salt water fishing I'll give you what I use for salt water fishing.
Go to Bass Pro Shop if you can find one.
Pick out either a Penn Fierce III 8000 OR a Penn Fierce III 8000 Live Liner.
The live liner has basically 2 drag systems their is a knob at the back of the reel that can be tightened when its tight if you flip the lever down to the knob the drag will be tight saves you from having to tighten the spool drag. the opposite can be done with the top drag rather then having the back knob tight the back knob will be the loose drag but honestly use the back knob to be the tight drag.
For the Penn Fierce III 8000 reel you will want at least 65lb braid 80lb braid for the live liverI went with Power Pro braid the moss green.
By the way Bass Pro sells the Penn Fierce III 8000 with reel and rod together they're about a 10 foot 2 piece rod.
For fishing for big fish like Sharks the Penn Fierce III 8000 will handle that fine.
For catching fish like snappers and red fish between 32 inches a Penn Fierce III 4000 will work fine. I'm currently using I believe 25lb Power Pro braid with my Penn Fierce III 4000
For bait with my Penn Fierce III 8000 setup I catch bait using my Penn Fierce III 4000 like a Gulf Kingfish or a Ladyfish or hard head cat fish tail I use a 5/0 circle hook for targeting 3-4 foot bull sharks 150lb wire leader and 1oz egg weight.
For catching fish on my Penn Fierce III 4000 I use live shrimp.
I don't honestly know what size hook I use for Penn Fierce III 4000 I bought a box of 500 hooks the biggest hook in the box says a size 12 but I have never seen any size 12 hooks. Chinese site called Wish sells them if you look on there for fishing hooks. They've some nice small hooks in that box to I use for catching pin fish.
