Get 20-30 antennas on a tower, 100-500W each (most at the lower end of that range) and intermod/receiver desensing becomes a major concern. Adding voters elsewhere help a lot, but that adds equipment/infrastructure expenses and complications. (Now each site needs accurate timing (GPS receiver, low-latency IP backhaul site-to-site) and that adds more points of failure. Simulcast needs even more precise timing, which gets real expensive.) Or pick up and move out of there, find a different mountain to set up on.
A site like >pic related, where there's a fuckload of VHF noise, my VHF radio sits in the truck and i'm using UHF or 800 systems.
