I live in the northwest, so there are a lot of temperate forests everywhere. The topography is also quite nice, there are many small mountains and valleys.
It is densely populated however, but if you know your area it is easy to be alone in the woods and do whatever you want. Except from shooting your guns, hunting and fishing- all of wich are strictly regulated.
The only Law Enforcement you might meet is the border guard. They are around in pretty remote areas. But they normally don't bother you as soon as they realize you are a local doing /out stuff.
