>>2134580About last image, I transplanted it while the forecast for a couple of days was going to be rain. So the roots would have some time to grow in the dirt medium.
Then pic related after like 3-4 days of rain and root growth, I put it out in the stun for a bit, keeping an eye on it every 10 min to see how the leaves are handling it. This gives me some idea of the root development below.
Sure enough the root development wasn't even close to being able to handle the intense sun here so I had to pull it back in the shade after like 10-20min.
>It is really compact in the bucket of dirt image. Are you asking if I padded in the dirt around the plant? Or if the dirt is too compact for the sweet potato that like relatively loose soil?
>It gettin' enough water? they're thirsty plantsI have no idea, I generally water it based on gut feel. Early couple of days I kept it well watered because it was used to growing in water. I generally watered until the bottom of the bucket started to spill out some water from the holes I made in it.
I don't have any concrete watering time. I just take a look at how heavy the bucket is in my hand, how firm, stiff, and up right the plant leaves are and how hot the weather has been, is currently and how long it's been since I last watered it.
If it's not sunny and the plant leaves are firm I don't water as I want it to spread its roots all over the bucket in search of water.
If it's a sunny day I will check the conditions mentioned above to know if I should add water today or not.
