Store pickles in a cool, dry, dark place.
Can't help you with Asian pickles
A properly preserved jar of pickles will last years unopened. After being open it's usually best to eat them over the course of a week or two.
Pickling is worth the cost when you've grown a ton of produce you want to preserve.
I find books are better than online resources. I can take a few pictures of recipes later if you like. We made some bread and butter pickles a few days ago.
