As for OPs question I guess budget and planning really narrow down your choices, like if you plan on buying aftermarket parts or just want a reliable ride for dry logging roads. I drive a Jeep XK and while it's a bit of a monster with its 3rd row seats I kinda needed them for my kids and looking on Craigslist in my area they're going for roughly 3-6k which is about what I paid for mine.
