I've lived in the lake district my whole life and everywhere here is very closely monitored by the rangers, forestry commission, national trust, wildlife conservation organizations and a whole myriad of voluntary groups, not to mention the literal millions of tourists who explore everywhere nook & cranny they can, all the locals who enjoy the lakes and the farmers who work the land. 5 years living /out/ without being noticed in a national park? Where is your farm and how could you afford to just buy an entire farm in the lakes after 5 years living /out/? Farms do not come cheap, especially here.
