as already stated, the Walmart foam sleeping pads are cheap, lightweight and work pretty damn well.
try to avoid the cheap aluminum cooksets. they're generally much too thin and very poorly made. a 2 qt. stainless steel pot with lid and a 10" skillet will handle all your cooking needs and if you want to splurge you can add a 2 qt stainless coffeepot to boil water.
